ABOUT ME

Mayme is not my real name.

I picked it out when I was 4 years old, and my family went along with it.

But it's catchy, right? Not a lot of Maymes are out there these days- just how I like it.

That is fairly indicative of my personality: quirky, decisive, and enthusiastic. My work is often clean and whimsical, but it can just as easily be structured, dark, or painterly- whatever suits the project.

I love experimenting with new subject matter and media, working digital and analog.  The spine of my sketchbook is in shambles, and I coulnd't be more proud of how ratty it looks from accompanying me across the country.

I'm currently a senior at Ole Miss, and my anticipated graduation is May 2014 with a B.A. in Art with a Graphic Design emphasis and Business minor.  I am employed at University Sporting Goods as a graphic designer, and represent Kappa Alpha Theta as part of the Marketing Committee (Apparel Chair).

My pieces have been selected for gallery shows, publicity materials, and programs for major conferences. I have designed individually as well as in partnership with other artists, and though I enjoy working with a team, I am also self-driven when working individually or to meet tight deadlines.

I have taken the initiative to start my own cottage business in custom artwork.

I'm also heavily involved in my local community, and my commitment to scholarship

is evidence of my work ethic and self motivation. The positions I have held within university organizations have placed me in leadership positions directing hundreds

of individuals, as well as encouraging me to work closely with other members to reach common goals. I have directed large-scale events, including creative development of both a campaign and merchandise for the local chapter of an international fraternity.
